Understanding Diminished Ovarian Reserves
Diminished Ovarian Reserve Treatment
Denver Fertility -Albrecht Women’s Care is a practice that provides specialty care to women diagnosed with decreased ovarian reserve, high FSH, and low AMH
Women, whom suffer from diminished ovarian reserve, have a premature decrease in the number of eggs available. Usually, diminished ovarian reserve is caused by aging ovaries, yet some women can have low reserve in their twenties and early thirties, making it more difficult to conceive.
At Denver Fertility -Albrecht Women’s Care the following testing is available to determine your ovarian reserve:
Day 3 follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) levels test. FSH testing measures the amount of follicle stimulating hormone in the blood on the 3rd day of a female’s menstrual cycle. The FSH from the pituitary gland leads the ovaries to choose and release an egg.
- Estradiol levels
- Clomiphene challenge test
- Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) levels test. AMH testing for diminished ovarian reserve assesses the immature and microscopic pool of primordial follicles in the ovaries. The AMH test can be run at any point during the menstrual cycle.
- Ultrasound for an antral follicle count
